FORMER Y BUILDING TO BECOME CONDO
The planning and development committee has recommended council approve a revised site plan agreement for the former YMCA building on Hugel Ave.
The developer -Hugel Lofts Inc. -is proposing to redevelop the building to create three commercial and nine residential condominium units.
Once the renovation of the building has been substantially completed, the developer will be required to submit an application for a plan of condominium to be approved by the Town in order to enter into purchase and sale agreements for the commercial and residential units.
A liquor-stealing shoplifter is being sought by provincial police.
Huronia West OPP say the male suspect hit LCBOs in Elmvale on May 6 and Wasaga Beach on May 7. Later that same day he tried to pull off another liquor heist in the Stayner LCBO, but left the bottles behind when confronted by staff.
Police believe the same man is involved in all three incidents.
He is described as white, between 40 and 50 years old, approximately five-foot six with a thin build and dirty blond hair that is receding and bushy. He was wearing a heavy green and black parka, blue jeans and work boots with a black toe guard.
According to police, on two occasions he was seen fleeing the area in an older blue, four-door automobile similar to an older model Toyota.
Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
