Georgian College names new president 0
MaryLynn West-Moynes will succeed Brian Tamblyn as Georgian College's president Aug. 7, because Tamblyn will retire this summer.
West-Moynes brings extensive academic and administrative experience in post-secondary education in Ontario, having held senior positions at both the college and university level, a news release Tuesday announcing her appointment said.
Currently, she is vice-president of external relations at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). Previously, she served as president of Mohawk College and in numerous senior leadership roles at both UOIT and Durham College.
The appointment of West-Moynes follows a six-month search. Georgian College has seven campuses -- in Barrie, Orillia, Owen Sound, Midland, Muskoka, Orangeville and South Georgian Bay.
